Kevin Lowe likely has little input on draft day

As per Gare Joyce's book, "Future Greats and Heartbreaks," page 241.

Most general managers give total authority to their chief amateur scouts or scouting directors

In Edmonton's case, it's Stu MacGregor [Thanks to Lowetide for the correction]

Actually no it isn't. It's Stu MacGregor.

You caught me and my lazy research skills.

No worries. The Oilers slid it under the rug during TC.

PJO - I presume you read it - was it good stuff?

On my list.

Pick up his book on the WJC game v the Russians - When The Lights Went Out I think its called - if you have not - very good I thought.

Yup. I bought a new copy on, and also bought "The Under Cover Economist" to get free shipping.

Excellent book, and Gare Joyce guides you through the book seamlessly. Makes you feel like you were there.

He had some good things to say on Cherepanov. Not so good things on Esposito. A huge man crush on Jakub Voracek and his ability ''to dominate 5 on 5.''

A recommended read for sure.

I also loved "Bob McCown's 100 hockey arguments" book. Great read.
